Changing Your Plan and Paid Options

A published guide from Survanta's public documentation.

Changing Your Plan and Your Paid Options

Two different things can change, and they follow two different timing rules.

Changing your plan

A Change Plan request — to any plan, more expensive or cheaper, standard or custom — takes effect at the end of the subscription period you have already paid for.

  • You are charged the full term price of the new plan at current catalog prices. It is not a part-period amount, and nothing is credited or refunded.
  • Your current plan and all of its limits stay fully in force until your period ends. Nothing you paid for is lost or cut short.
  • The new plan starts the moment the current period ends, so there is no gap in service.
  • The change is scheduled only once the invoice is Paid. Approval alone changes nothing.

You can see the scheduled change and the date it becomes effective while it is pending. A change that has been scheduled cannot be cancelled — it has already been paid for, and it applies at your period end.

A move to a cheaper plan is requested the same way as a move to a more expensive one. There is no separate action and no separate timing for it.

Increasing your limits

A Limit Increase is separate from changing your plan and does not wait for your period to end.

  • You choose a quantity and a duration — 1, 3, 6, 9 or 12 months — and pay for that duration outright.
  • The extra capacity is added on top of your current plan rather than replacing anything in it, and it starts once the increase is paid for.
  • Each duration can carry its own discount, so a longer purchase can cost less per month. The 9-month duration is available for limit increases only; subscription durations are 1, 3, 6 or 12 months.
  • The increase expires at the end of the duration you bought. Your base plan is unaffected either way.

Reducing a paid option

A reduction takes effect at your next cycle, never immediately.

  • There is no refund and no negative credit.
  • What you already paid for stays fully active until the period ends.
  • The lower value is applied once, at the boundary.

You can see the requested change and the date it becomes effective while it is pending. Until then, your current entitlement is unchanged.

At renewal

A Renewal buys another term of what you already have, at current rates, and any reduction that was due takes effect. Paid extras are not carried forward free.

Fixed plans are not discounted by switching things off

Starter, Professional and Enterprise are fixed bundles. Turning off a feature that is included in your plan does not reduce the plan price. That is separate from options you purchased individually, which do follow the rules above.

Prices must exist for your market

Every paid option needs an authoritative price for your country and currency. Where no price exists, the option is unavailable — it is never treated as free, and prices are never converted automatically from another currency.
