Survey Limits
Two current capacity limits control stored and active surveys. A separate per-survey limit controls visible version history.
Maximum total surveys
What it controls: the total number of surveys your organization can have at one time.
- Who it affects: anyone who creates surveys for your tenant.
- When it applies: when a new survey is being created.
- What happens when reached: creating another survey is blocked with a clear message.
- Data: reconciliation can make excess stored surveys read-only without deleting them or their responses. Read-only surveys still count as stored usage; new creation remains blocked until capacity fits.
Maximum active surveys
What it controls: how many surveys can be active (published / collecting responses) at the same time.
- Who it affects: anyone who activates or publishes a survey.
- When it applies: when a survey is being activated or published. The survey you are currently activating is not double-counted.
- What happens when reached: activating another survey is blocked. When effective capacity falls, resource reconciliation can deactivate excess active surveys without deleting their data.
- Deactivating is always allowed. To make room, deactivate a survey you no longer need to keep collecting on, then activate the new one.
How to see your usage
- Tenant admins can review survey counts on the dashboard overview and plan/usage pages.
- Platform admins can view and adjust these limits per plan or per tenant.
Survey-version history limit
Survey versions bounds the newest visible retained versions for each survey to 1..50. A missing, zero or invalid value, including -1, disables visible history. Lowering this window hides older history without deleting snapshots or changing responses; increasing it can re-expose retained versions within the new window. This is a per-survey visibility limit, not an organization-wide survey count.
Special values
- Creation and activation require a usable subscription and current effective capacity, including valid independent grants. Missing or zero capacity refuses growth; expired and not-yet-active grants do not count.
- Only an explicit numeric
-1on a resolved plan means unlimited. Other negative values are invalid.
