General
What is Survanta?
Survanta is a survey platform for researchers and organisations. It supports structured survey creation, team access with per-user permissions, field collection by mobile researchers, public and token-based participation, responses, and reporting in one workspace.
Who can use Survanta?
Individual researchers, teams, and larger organisations. Each organisation is a separate tenant with its own users, surveys, and data. Plans and permission groups can be configured to match the size and responsibilities of each organisation.
Surveys
How do I create and publish a survey?
An authorised tenant user creates the survey in the Survey Builder, adds sections and questions, previews the respondent flow, and then activates it. Preview never stores a response, so you can test the whole questionnaire safely before collection starts.
How is a survey structured in the Survey Builder?
A survey holds sections, and sections hold questions; related questions can also be gathered into question groups. Each question has a code, a display text, a type, and its own settings, and questions can be shown or hidden based on earlier answers using conditions.
Teams and roles
How do teams, roles, and field researchers work?
A tenant administrator invites colleagues and assigns each one a permission group, so people receive only the access their responsibilities need. Field researchers use their own accounts on the mobile client and see only the surveys and field tasks assigned to them.
Access links
How do public and token-based survey links work?
An authorised user can issue a public survey link for a single survey, a portal link that lists an organisation's currently active surveys, or a viewer link that grants read-only access to results. Respondents open these links without an account, and the issuing organisation can deactivate any link at any time.
Responses and analytics
Where do responses and analytics appear?
Submitted responses appear in the tenant dashboard, where authorised users can review individual submissions and see aggregate figures for a survey. Plans that include exporting can download survey data in standard formats.
Plans and limits
How do plans and limits work?
Each organisation runs on a plan that sets which features are included and how much of each limit — such as users, surveys, responses, or storage — is available. Current plans and limits are listed on the Pricing page, and the Custom Plan builder or Contact Sales covers requirements that no listed plan fits.
What happens when a plan limit is reached or a subscription expires?
The blocked action stops and explains why. A tenant administrator sees the specific reason together with the plan, the relevant usage or expiry detail, and a link to the billing pages needed to resolve it. Other tenant users are told that an organisation subscription or limit is blocking the action and to contact their tenant administrator.
Security and data
How is our data kept separate and access controlled?
Each organisation's data is isolated from every other organisation. Inside an organisation, visibility follows the permission groups a tenant administrator assigns, and uploaded files are served only to users allowed to see them. Access links expose only the survey or report they were issued for.
Where is data stored?
Data storage follows the platform deployment and tenant configuration. Contact the platform operator for the applicable hosting, retention, backup, and residency details for your deployment.
