Overview

A published guide from Survanta's public documentation.

Survanta Mobile

The Survanta mobile application lets a field collector work through assigned surveys on an Android device — including in places with no usable network. Surveys are downloaded to the device, answered locally, and submitted when a connection is available.

What the app is for

The mobile app is the field-collection companion to the Survanta dashboard. Surveys are authored on the web, and the app presents them to the people who actually collect answers.

Who can sign in

The mobile app is for tenant users only. You sign in with the account your organisation created for you, and you see only the surveys your tenant has made available to you. Platform administrators and website visitors do not use this app.

What you can do

  • Browse the surveys available to you, and see which ones are already stored on your device.
  • Open a survey's details before you start, including how it will be presented and whether a copy is held locally.
  • Start a response, save it as a draft, and come back to it later.
  • Answer the question types the survey uses, including structured tables.
  • See exactly which required answers are still missing before you submit.
  • Work offline, and let queued responses upload automatically once you are online again.
  • Review the responses you have already submitted.

How your data is held on the device

A downloaded survey definition is encrypted on the device and bound to the signed-in account. Draft answers, table rows, and queued submissions are stored the same way. Signing out or switching account does not expose another account's local data, and the app offers an explicit Delete local data action in the account screen.
