Subscription Overview
Your organization's subscription decides whether Survanta will carry out operational work for you: collecting responses, building and publishing surveys, uploading files, completing field tasks, and moving responses through review.
It is one of five separate checks. Each answers a different question, and passing one says nothing about the others.
| Check | The question it answers |
|---|---|
| Sign-in (authentication) | Who are you? |
| Permissions | Are you allowed to perform this action? |
| Organization isolation | Does this record belong to your organization? |
| Subscription | Is your organization's paid service period currently in force? |
| Plan limits | Are you still within the allowance your plan includes? |
Signing in is not the same as being subscribed
This is the point most often misunderstood, so it is worth stating plainly:
A successful sign-in — on the website or in the mobile app — proves who you are. It does not prove that your organization's subscription is active.
Practical consequences:
- You can sign in normally after the subscription has expired. Your account is not disabled.
- A sign-in session started before the subscription expired does not keep working around it. Every protected action re-checks the subscription at the moment you perform it.
- The same applies to mobile app tokens and to public survey links: none of them bypasses an expired subscription.
Subscription is not the same as plan limits
Both can block an action, but for different reasons and with different fixes:
- Subscription decides whether your organization may operate at all. The fix is renewal.
- Plan limits decide how much you may do while operating — number of surveys, responses, users, storage. The fix is a larger plan or a limit increase.
An organization can be fully subscribed and still be stopped by a limit, and an organization well inside every limit is still stopped by an expired subscription.
Nothing is deleted when a subscription expires
Expiry pauses service. It does not remove your organization, your users, your surveys, your responses, or your files. See Data Safety and Recovery.
